Held on the campus playground, the event was filled with energy, laughter, and enthusiastic participation from both retirees and students. The games were carefully designed to be enjoyable and accessible, taking into account the physical conditions and engagement levels of both groups. Events included “Throwing Beanbags”, “Dart Toss”, and “Velcro Ball” games. Retired teacher Xia Huiyan shared her feelings: “I haven’t had this much fun exercising in a long time. Participating in activities with the students makes me feel younger. Seeing these energetic young people reminds me of my own youth.” Students who took part also expressed their appreciation, saying the event not only provided physical exercise but also strengthened their connection with the retired teachers. They added that they had learned valuable life experiences and a positive, optimistic attitude from the older generation. Wang Lei, deputy party secretary of the SFL, stated that this fun sports meet was a highly meaningful initiative. It not only created an interactive platform for retired faculty and students but also further promoted the school’s tradition of caring for retired staff and valuing intergenerational connection. In the future, the School’s CCE will continue to organize diverse activities to enhance communication and mutual understanding, fostering a warm and harmonious campus atmosphere. |
