SIS Holds Counselor Meeting for New Students of 2026On September 13, the School of International Studies held a counselor meeting for the students of 2026. Led by freshman counselor Sun Ying and attended by all undergraduate freshmen, the event aims to help new students settle into campus life and clarify their growth paths. Sun Ying welcomed the freshmen and pointed out that university is a key stage for comprehensive personal transformation. She advised students to adjust their mindset and embrace new challenges. She explained campus safety, dormitory management and military training rules. Drawing on real campus cases, she shared knowledge about fraud prevention, fire safety and personal safety, urging students to raise self-protection awareness. She introduced dormitory regulations, sanitation standards and interpersonal etiquette, and specified military training schedules and discipline. Practical advice on independent study and communication was offered to ease freshmen’s adaptation difficulties. She also interpreted medical insurance policies and launched the assessment work for financially disadvantaged students, detailing application materials, review timelines and available student aid. This focused session relieved freshmen’s enrollment anxiety and helped them learn campus rules and support policies, laying a foundation for student management and study-style development. Going forward, the School will continue to organize various supporting activities to meet freshmen’s growth needs. It is hoped that the new cohort will cherish their youth and forge ahead on their academic journey. |
