SIS Freshmen Reception Concludes Successfully

To carry out the university’s Top TUST Initiative, help the year 2026 freshmen adapt to campus life and clarify academic development paths, the School of International Studies held its freshmen reception in the Lecture Hall of Yifu Building on September 14. The event was attended by school leaders and department heads, together with all undergraduate and postgraduate freshmen, and hosted by counselor Sun Ying.

On behalf of the School, Dean Chaoluomeng welcomed new students and introduced the School’s history, disciplines, faculty, research and international exchange opportunities. He encouraged freshmen to trust their majors and themselves, make long-term plans, overcome challenges and demonstrate the spirit of foreign language learners.

Undergraduate representative He Zitong shared her expectations for college study and called on peers to consolidate language foundations and hone core linguistic skills. Postgraduate representative Jin Baihui pledged to integrate academic research with the university’s “3510” Strategic Project and undertake cultural communication and practical services.

In his closing speech, Party Secretary He Hua put forward three expectations for freshmen: to build solid professional foundations, develop interdisciplinary innovative capabilities, and cultivate patriotism alongside a global vision. He urged them to align personal goals with professional strengths and pursue continuous progress.

This reception addressed freshmen’s academic concerns and clarified their career prospects, uniting their drive for growth. It marks a good start for the new cohort, who are encouraged to seize their youth and strive for excellence on their academic journey.
