TUST Light Industry Culture Exhibition Grandly Opens, SFL Carefully Planned “Multilingual Show” Receives Praise

The opening ceremony of the Light Industry Culture Exhibition of TUST was grandly held in the library hall of the Binhai Central Campus on the afternoon of April 26. This exhibition, one of the series of activities for promoting ideological and cultural awareness, consisted of five major sections of “Red Culture of Light Industry” “Cultural Industry of Light Industry” “Intangible Cultural Heritage of Light Industry” “Technological Culture of Light Industry” and “Multilingual Show of Light Industry Culture” to promote the tradition of light industry culture, enhance campus cultural construction, and present a splendid cultural feast to all faculty members and students. Among them, the “Multilingual Show of Light Industry Culture”, meticulously planned and presented by ourSchool of Foreign Languages, became a highlight of this event.

The opening ceremony was hosted by An Yujian, Deputy Secretary of TUST Party Committee, and Bai Haili, Secretary of the TUST Party Committee, attended to deliver a speech. Over 100 participants joined the ceremony, including TUST leaders, grassroots Party Committees (Party General Branches), department heads, and student representatives. Zhang Bo, Secretary of SFL Party Committee, and Wang Ying, SFL Deputy Dean, were present at the opening ceremony.

Wang provided a detailed introduction on the overall situation, design concept, and related work of the “Multilingual Show of Light Industry Culture” on behalf of the SFL, stating that this show was carefully prepared over six months, consisting of three parts: display boards, brochures, and videos, aimed at showcasing the remarkable achievements of TUST in the field of light industry through a multilingual formatas well as the contributions of the SFL in promoting light industry culture and the dissemination of traditional Chinese culture.

The exhibition included a total of 22 display boards, of which 20 boards showcased the historical evolution and significant achievements of the four advantageous disciplines of TUST of “Wine, Food, Salt, and Paper” in Chinese, English, Japanese, French, and German. The remaining two boards focused on the achievements of the SFL in cultural dissemination.

The brochures introduced the origin, development, and types of “Wine, Food, Salt, and Paper” in Chinese, English, and Japanese, highlighting the advantageous features in these disciplines of TUST.

The video section featured selected representative works from students’ past competitions, showcasing the vivid practice of SFL students telling Chinese stories, Tianjin stories, and TUST stories in foreign languages.

This exhibition not only serves as a concentrated display of light industry culture at TUST but also represents an important practice by the SFL in “international communication” and “interdisciplinary cooperation and exchange”. It injects new vitality into the prosperous development of campus culture and demonstrates the proactive role of the SFL in enhancing the international influence of TUST. Looking ahead, the SFL will continue to explore and inherit light industry culture, promote the dissemination and development of China’s excellent traditional culture, provide spiritual motivation and cultural support for the high-quality development of various undertakings to contribute wisdom and strength for building a community with a shared future for mankind and advancing the “Belt and Road Initiative”.
