On May 27, 2025, the Committee of Concerned Elders (CCE) of the SFL organized a calligraphy exchange event themed “Dragon Boat Festival Celebrates Integrity, Faculty and Students Write a Chapter of Purity”, focusing on studying and implementing the spirit of the CPC Central Committee’s Eight-point Regulation. Retired faculty members and young students used brush and ink as a medium to share reflections on integrity culture, creating a unique blend of traditional festival celebration and ethical education.

At the event, retired teachers and students gathered around long tables, bonding through calligraphy and conveying values through ink. Retired teachers Jia Bingzhi and Wang Zhenping wrote powerful works such as “Integrity Nurtures Virtue”and “Serve with Integrity and Dedication”, their brushstrokes embodying moral uprightness. Under the guidance of these veteran educators, students attempted to create their own pieces featuring classical phrases like “Noble and Upright” and “Exercise Caution Even When Alone”. Hu Pengmeilin, a year 2022student, listened attentively as a teacher advised, “Writing characters is like being a person—both must be upright and principled.”Participants also drew inspiration from the Dragon Boat Festival’s symbolic imagery, incorporating original couplets such as “Zongzi leaves symbolize purity” and “Mugwort represents righteousness” into their calligraphy. Through their art, they discussed the integrity and noble spirit of Qu Yuan, who “chose to leap into the Xiang River” rather than compromise his principles, creating a profound resonance between the traditional festival and the values of integrity.

Wang Lei, discipline inspection secretaryof the SFL, stated that the event used traditional culture as a vehicle to deeply embed integrity education in people’s hearts. It not only built a bridge for cultural inheritance between generations but also planted the values of “finding beauty and joy in integrity” firmly in the hearts of young students, injecting vibrant energy into the construction of an integrity-focused campus culture.
