SFL Successfully Held the “Shangxue Lecture” Academic SeminarMon Oct 20 13:10:25 CST 2025To enliven the academic atmosphere on campus, promote interdisciplinary integration, stimulate graduate students’ innovative potential, and enhance academic exchange, the 15th “Shangxue Lecture” graduate academic seminar was held on June 24 in Room 7-210, Binhai Campus. Hosted by the SFL, the event featured Associate Professor Li Min (specializing in Japanese Language and Literature) and Associate Professor Ji Xiaohong (specializing in English Language and Literature) as keynote commentators. Eight graduate students from the SFL delivered presentations spanning multiple fields, including translation studies, sociology, history, and Japanese literature, offering diverse academic perspectives. In the field of translation studies, presenters explored the application of translation strategies across different text types from the perspective of cross-cultural communication. In history, speakers analyzed the underlying social dynamics of historical events through textual research and investigative methods. Presentations on Japanese literature focused on classic authors and works, delving into the deep cultural meanings embedded within the texts. Each presenter was well-prepared, delivering compelling presentations through vivid case studies and clear, logical explanations of their research findings. During the commentary session, Li Min and Ji Xiaohong provided detailed feedback on aspects such as topic significance, research methodology, and logical structure. They praised the students’innovative thinking and practical explorations in academic research, while also offering constructive suggestions for improvement—such as deepening theoretical frameworks and refining data analysis techniques. Their insightful and accessible critiques not only clarified future research directions for the presenters but also greatly benefited all faculty and students in attendance. This forum established a multidimensional academic dialogue ecosystem, breaking down disciplinary barriers and fostering deep integration of cross-field research ideas through a comprehensive format combining thematic presentations, expert commentary, and interactive discussions. The SFL will continue to advance the implementation of the “Excellence in Research and Education”action plan under the university’s “Top Tust Plan”, continuously enhancing graduate students’ academic innovation and practical capabilities. By doing so, the school is committed to promoting high-quality graduate education and contributing to the development of a high-level research-oriented university. |
