The First Community Graduate Student Party Branch Held a Special Seminar on the Collective Party Class

To further deepen the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the National Education Conference, and to effectively advance the understanding and execution of the university-wide collective party class for faculty and student party members, the first community graduate student party branch of the SFL held a special seminar on June 23 in Room 7-203. All branch members attended the meeting, which was chaired by Party Branch Secretary Liu Caixia. Fan Mengnan, Deputy Head of the University Organization Department, was invited to attend.

During the seminar, all party members engaged in in-depth discussions based on their personal experiences in study, work, and daily life, focusing on the theme of Minister Huai Jinpeng’s collective party class: “Deeply Study and Implement Xi Jinping’s Important Expositions on Education and Implement the Spirit of the National Conference”.Pan Dexin and Wu Jian’ou shared their firsthand experiences participating in a volunteer propaganda team, emphasizing that as graduate student party members, they must deeply recognize their responsibilities and mission. Through their outreach activities, they not only introduced inspiring stories of scientists such as Long Yanquan to elementary school students, but also leveraged their language expertise to teach children how to tell Chinese stories in English.Wu Yuzhe reflected on her experience teaching in Xinjiang, saying the collective class deepened her understanding of the contemporary significance of higher education and further clarified the original aspirations and mission of university student party members.Li Yangjie discussed her study-abroad experience in Japan, highlighting how it strengthened her awareness of the importance of language learners conveying China’s stories effectively on the international stage.Jiang Nan, a graduating party member currently in the early stages of starting her own business, underscored the profound significance of the collective party class. She has been actively exploring ways to integrate AI-powered error correction with red cultural elements into education, aiming to cultivate learners’deep affection for the nation and its values. Inspired by the class, she emphasized her commitment to making language training a key platform for ideological and moral education under the guidance of the university’s “Top Tust Plan”.

Branch Secretary Liu Caixia shared her reflections on Minister Huai’s call for university faculty and student party members to take on the mission of building a strong education nation, particularly the need to balance talent cultivation with societal needs. She proposed that the branch should fully implement the “Excellence in Research and Education”action in the“Top Tust Plan”,deeply integrating ideological and political education with professional academic training to cultivate graduate students who are socially responsible, academically rigorous, and committed to uniting knowledge with action.

In his concluding remarks, Deputy Organization Head Fan Mengnan praised the seminar for reflecting profound thinking on the mission of youth in the new era and showcasing the vibrant spirit of the student party members. He emphasized that, in the new era and on the new journey, graduate student party branch development should center on the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education. Guided by the university’s “Top Tust Plan” and the Fourth TUST Party Congress, the branch should actively promote “disciplinary convergence and empowerment”, focus on interdisciplinary integration and internationalization, and thoughtfully explore the evolving role and mission of language disciplines in the current era.

The seminar ignited enthusiasm for innovation and exploration among faculty and students. Participants expressed their determination to use this exchange as an opportunity to break through conventional thinking, boldly engage in interdisciplinary practices, closely align their professional knowledge with societal needs, and contribute to the goal of becoming a high-level research-oriented university.
