SIS Freshman Orientation Series (II) — A New Journey of Words, Dreams for New ArrivalsAs the university advances the “3510” Strategic Project, kicks off its 15th Five-Year Plan, concludes Top TUST Initiative (Version 1.0) and designs Top TUST Initiative (Version 2.0), the School of International Studies held a special lecture for the students of 2026 on September 15. Li Xinyan, Deputy Director of the Party Organization Department and Vice President of the Party School, delivered the talk themed “Foster Devotion to the Party, Set the Course for Youth, and Stay True to the Original Aspiration for Party Membership” in the Library’s Second Lecture Hall. All freshmen attended, and Sun Ying, their counselor, hosted the event. Li recounted the CPC’s century-long struggle and shared inspiring stories of exemplary figures including Chen Yannian, Kong Fansen, Jiao Yulu and Zhang Boli, helping freshmen feel the power of firm communist beliefs. She introduced basic Party theories and the full procedure for joining the Party, clarified relevant requirements, and answered common questions from students. She advised freshmen to maintain pure motives for Party membership, stay devoted to the country, commit themselves to academic study, and take the initiative to draw closer to the Party organization. The freshmen remarked that the lecture addressed their ideological confusion. They plan to excel in academic studies and volunteer services to steadily meet the standards of the Party organization. This Party membership initiation session is a key component of freshman ideological education. It spreads fundamental Party theories and plants the seeds of faith among new students. Moving forward, the School will continue the “One Branch, One Feature” Party-building brand project and carry out regular theoretical learning, role-model sharing and practical services. By integrating ideological guidance into student training, the School will guide more young students to combine personal ideals with national development and strive to fulfill their youth missions. |
