SIS Student Aid Ambassadors Deliver Multi-dimensional Briefings on Financial Aid Policies

To boost education through student financial support and expand the publicity of national and university aid policies, the School of International Studies arranged student aid ambassadors to carry out policy briefings in four scenarios: hometown visits, community outreach, on-campus lectures and freshman orientation.

Ding Hairou visited her alma mater Huatao Middle School in Yuncheng, Shanxi, introducing the multi-level aid system, including scholarships, grants and national student loans, and answering questions for high school students. Peng Nuoran delivered a popularization talk at Yilian Academy Community in Songjiang, Shanghai, sharing aid policies and conveying the principle that no student will drop out due to financial hardship.

On campus, ambassadors including Ding Hairou and Zhao Xiaohan held briefings in lecture halls, classrooms and the Whale Learning Station. They explained application rules and assessment criteria for major aid programs to clear up students’ misunderstandings. The School also integrated aid promotion into freshman reception. Ambassadors offered on-site consultation for the freshmen and their parents, interpreting aid policies and identification standards for financially disadvantaged students to ease their financial worries.

These ambassadors turn formal policies into accessible explanations and show the dedication of foreign language students. Going forward, the School will continue to improve financial aid education, innovate publicity approaches and give full play to the educational function of student aid, supporting students to pursue their dreams.
