Vice Dean Wang Ying and master’s program supervisors attended the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, Wang Ying delivered an opening speech. She emphasized that the supervisor matching process is a crucial phase in graduate education, directly impacting students’ academic development and future careers. She urged all supervisors to take this process seriously, adhere to the principles of fairness, impartiality, and transparency, and base their decisions on students’ academic interests, professional competencies, and developmental potential. This ensures every graduate student can be matched with a supervisor best suited to their individual growth. She also expressed the hope that, through this training and in alignment with the university’s “Top Tust Plan”, supervisors would gain a clearer understanding of their responsibilities and enhance their mentoring capabilities, thereby contributing to the cultivation of high-caliber foreign language professionals. Subsequently, Wang Ying provided a detailed explanation of the relevant policies and procedures for the 2025 supervisor matching process. She carefully outlined key aspects, including the timeline, the mutual selection mechanism between students and supervisors, and the final confirmation and public announcement of results. During the discussion session, supervisors actively participated, exchanging views on specific details of the selection process. The lively and constructive dialogue generated valuable insights for improving the mutual selection system and enhancing graduate training quality. Guided by the “Excellence in Research and Education” Action Plan, this meeting focused on the core mission of improving graduate education quality, providing clear direction and building consensus for advancing graduate programs to a higher level. In the future, the SFL will continue to strengthen its supervisor team, actively explore innovations in training models, thoroughly implement all requirements of the “Top Tust Plan”, and fully commit to achieving high-level, high-quality goals in graduate talent development. |
