SIS Boosts Government-University-Enterprise Linkages to Explore New Employment Opportunities for Foreign Language MajorsTo implement Tianjin’s special campaign of visiting enterprises to expand job openings and advance the responsibility system for graduate employment, the School of International Studies actively conducts employer outreach. On September 23, a forum on OPC community ecological development took place in Meeting Room 208, Building 2, Lixianghai. Wang Lei, Deputy Party Secretary, and Vice Dean Zhao Guozhu represented the School, engaging in face-to-face discussions with representatives from the Dongjiang Administrative Committee, Gangcheng Cultural & Tourism Group, Beijing Jizhi Tiancheng Network Technology, Tianjin Airong Technology and other organizations. They matched talent supply and demand and explored internship, employment and entrepreneurship resources for foreign language students. Faculty representatives from the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, School of Artificial Intelligence and School of Art & Design also attended. At the forum, Gangcheng Cultural & Tourism Group presented the blueprint for the Lixianghai OPC community ecosystem, and Tianjin Airong Technology explained its detailed planning. Relevant departments of the Dongjiang Administrative Committee introduced regional industrial layout, supportive policies and talent incubation measures. Participants discussed cooperation models, including intellectual support, manpower supply, cultural and creative development and language services, to advance regional development through government-university-enterprise collaboration. After the forum, the School followed up with the Organization Department (Human Resources Bureau) of the Dongjiang Administrative Committee. It introduced the School’s programmes, graduate profiles and students’ strengths in translation, international services and external communication. Both sides had in-depth talks on local internships, policy implementation, practical training platforms and talent matching, learning about regional employment incentives and opening channels for foreign language majors to secure practical and job opportunities. Going forward, the School will continue to deepen the enterprise outreach campaign, expand government-university-enterprise cooperation, and identify more suitable jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities for foreign language graduates. It will refine the long-term employment mechanism, improve students’ employability, and work toward higher-quality and fuller employment for graduates. |
