SIS Working Committee Boosts Home-School Education Top TUST PracticeTo implement the requirements of the Top TUST Initiative, Chen Wei from the School’s Working Committee for the Care of Next Generation delivered a public welfare lecture at TEDA Eco-City Animation Park School Affiliated to Tianjin Foreign Studies University. A seasoned retired foreign language teacher, Chen combines red education, traditional Chinese culture and foreign language expertise to help children build cultural confidence and bilingual competence. Focusing on the Year of the Horse culture, her lively bilingual class taught children the English terms of the Chinese zodiac and explained Spring Festival customs such as couplets, red envelopes and dumplings. Interactive activities encouraged youngsters to speak up and experience traditional culture in immersive English learning. This event is a vivid practice of silver-haired educators empowering youth and promoting home-school cultural education. Going forward, the Working Committee will continue to organize regular lectures and cultural outreach activities. It aims to guide young learners to master foreign languages and tell China’s stories well, growing into patriotic teenagers with a global vision. |
