SIS Holds 2026 Alumni Homecoming DayAmid blooming osmanthus in golden September, the School of International Studies hosted its Alumni Homecoming Day on September 26, 2026, to mark the 68th anniversary of Tianjin University of Science and Technology. Alumni came back to their alma mater from all over the country, meeting with school leaders and faculty representatives to reminisce about campus life and discuss alumni initiatives. On the morning of September 26, the Preparatory Committee Meeting of the Alumni Association and alumni homecoming carnival were held in the Second Meeting Room of the Main Building on Hexi Campus. Dean Chaoluomeng, retired teachers Xia Huiyan, Yang Xiuzhen and Qiao Heming, committee members and returning alumni attended the event. Dean Chaoluomeng updated alumni on the School’s progress and awarded appointment letters to committee members, encouraging them to advance the establishment of the alumni association. Participants held warm discussions on alumni association development, alumni resource integration and university-enterprise cooperation. A virtual homecoming channel was opened for online alumni to communicate with their former teachers. The event concluded with a group photo of all attendees. Next year will witness the 40th anniversary of the School of International Studies. The newly founded Preparatory Committee will support the anniversary celebration and unite alumni. One long-returned alumnus shared that stepping onto campus and meeting familiar teachers and classmates instantly brought back memories of his college years. Looking back on the past and embracing the future, this homecoming carries both historical reflections and forward-looking expectations. At the outset of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the School of International Studies will fully implement the Top TUST Initiative, foster Top TUST culture and build a Top TUST ecosystem. Guided by the “3510” Strategic Project, the School pushes forward its goal of building a distinctive, high-level teaching and research school. Leveraging this activity, the School will further cultivate alumni culture, rally alumni strength, and jointly write a new chapter for its high-quality development. |
